About Me

Howdy! Welcome to my blog about small farm living and owning a family milk cow. Perhaps you also live on a farm and have your own milk cow, or maybe you’re just curious about farm living. Regardless of your reason for visiting, I hope you enjoy my little snippets of farm life. Here’s a little background on myself:

My husband, three kids, and I live on 30 acres in rural East Texas. We have cows, goats, horses, a dog, a barn cat, and, occasionally, some chickens. I hand-milk a Jersey milk cow named Sienna and make many dairy products from her raw milk.

Originally, I’m from rural Missouri where I also lived on a small farm and had a milk cow for a few years. My brothers and I tried raising lots of different types of farm animals including cows, horses, sheep, goats, rabbits, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, cats, and dogs.

I haven’t always lived on a farm. During my twenties, I lived in different cities and worked as a newspaper reporter. I’ve also had experience as a teacher.

Now I’m a stay-at-home, homeschool mom who keeps busy around the house and farm.

Thanks for your support and interest! I look forward to your questions, comments, and feedback.
